PET Scans

A PET scan, or Positron Emission Tomography scan, is a medical imaging technique that helps visualize metabolic processes in the body. It uses a small amount of radioactive material (a tracer) that emits positrons. When the tracer is injected into the body, it accumulates in areas of high metabolic activity, such as tumors.
